He said he would maintain the game-development stance that he and Mr. Iwata established and work with developers to create the kind of future successes that the late president would have wanted.

Ich muss mich grad echt zusammenreissen, dass ich nicht in Tränen ausbreche. Das Ganze trifft mich mehr als ich erwartet hätte. Durch seine Reden, Iwata Asks und generell seine offene Art war er irgendwie menschlicher und greifbarer als so manch andere Persönlichkeit. Ich werde ihn sehr vermissen.

Obwohl ich mit Nintendo-Spielen der letzten Jahre nicht viel anfangen konnte oder Nintendo Directs usw. nicht großartig verfolgt habe, bin ich auch den ganzen Tag schon den Tränen nahe und einfach nur down. 55 ist echt kein Alter, und die Realisation, dass meine Eltern nicht viel älter sind, trägt sicherlich dazu bei...

Nach allem, was man so liest, war er echt talentiert und bodenständig. Die Spiele-Industrie braucht mehr von seiner Sorte.

Nintendo hat mittlerweile sein Foto aktualisiert. Das neue auf der rechten Seite ist von Ende Juni.

Er hat scheinbar sogar noch seinen Mii entsprechend angepasst...

“I think a typical president of a company does not do things like Iwata Asks or Nintendo Direct, so some people might view me as a slightly strange president. But I do think that there is a tremendous amount of meaning for me to be able to do and continue to do things that only I can do, and so I’ll continue to look for new and unique things that I can contribute.”
