4. Sin 2
"Christmas is coming early for Sin fans this year, as we have two exclusive screenshots from the Sin II demo created by Ritual earlier this year. The screenshots show the new models of main character John R. Blade and villainess Elexis Sinclaire in all their high-detail glory. These are actual in-game screenshots and not 3D Studio renders or anything like that. Both shots are available in 1600x1200, as well as 1024x768."
"In a surprise post on Shacknews, Ritual lead game designer Tom "ParadoX" Mustaine today revealed that the company was recently working on a sequel to Sin - the groundbreaking first person shooter released in 1998. Unfortunately Ritual wasn't able to find a publisher willing to finance the project. Here's the low-down:
We were working Sin2, but there was no publisher interest in today’s game market. Even have a really slick demo in a next generation technology (beyond Quake3.)
Maybe it can happen in a few years when the next round of "resurrect old game franchises" mentality resurfaces.
Until that day....
In a second post, Tom confirms that this project was, in fact, a true sequel and not a remake:
Yeah, the Sin2 concept was NOT a remake - it is a continuation of the franchise with some cool new features, characters, weapons, etc... "
ARGH!
